Herbal Essences Uplifting Volume Dry Shampoo

As soon as I saw that one of my favourite shampoo brands was releasing a dry shampoo, I couldn't have been happier. Although I don't tend to use dry shampoo on a regular basis, it can be a life saver for those times when my hair really needs an instant pick me up and I simply don't have the time to wash it. Alternatively it's great for adding a bit of texture and volume. I use it for both of these reasons and had high hopes that this product would live up to the high standards this brand had already set out.

However I turned out to be extremely disappointed with this product. It ended up making my hair feel even more dirty than when I first started out, completely defeating the object.

Once applied to my hair, I was initially pleased that it didn't leave the typical grey cast that general non-coloured dry shampoos leave. I really liked the gorgeous citrusy scent that the product had which seemed to linger for a while. But when I got to work massaging the product in, it genuinely just felt as if I was rubbing lard into my locks. The texture was so thick and heavy - not a pleasant experience at all.

I only paid £1.99 for this bottle as it was on offer for 1/3 off at boots. This helps to ease my mind as it wasn't terribly expensive. But I am still really surprised that I didn't get on with it at all as it's from such a respected brand.

I still enjoy using Herbal Essences products and will continue to buy their shampoos for the shower. However when it comes to styling outside of the bathroom, I think other brands like Lee Stafford are  better.

Does this product work better for thinner hair? If you have any experience with it then please let me know in the comments below.
