I discovered this nail polish whilst I was trying to find a dupe for my beloved Rimmel 'How Do You Lilac It?' nail polish. Essie's 'Go Ginza', which was part of their Spring collection in 2013, is more of a pastel shade with slightly more purple in it, but that makes it unique and really pretty in it's own right.
I absolutely love Essie as a brand. They never seem to let me down. The brushes are really wide and create a foolproof application whilst the lacquer is really hard and chip resistant. Having said that I find that different colours can vary slightly in the formulation. I don't know if it's because of the pigment in the colour, but I found 'Go Ginza' to be ever so slightly streaky in places. But over all it worked beautifully and was opaque after two coats. I applied three to cover the slightly streaky application of the second coat but this might have been due to the polish not being completely dry underneath when the final coat was applied
I popped Sally Hansen's Mega Shine Top Coat on top to seal the colour in and add a little more gloss, as this pastel shade did look a little less shiny than usual. But having done that I'm really happy with the end result and can't help but stare at my mani with every free second I get. Not only does this shade really flatter my fair skin tone, but I can imagine it working really well with a tan too.
