You may have seen this Bourjois Blush Exclusif product pop up in a haul I did recently. It's been on the market for a while now and I've been admiring it from afar. It was only the payday before last when I decided enough was enough and I must have it as my own.
I didn't want to be pulled in by the gimmick of a blush that changes colour to become a personalised pink. After all I feel that's been done already by many other brands - a quick example being the Barry M Green Lipstick which I turned out not to like in the end. But after a few swatches on my hand I was genuinely taken by the pretty rose colour it became. I love me some rosy pink cheeks so into my shopping bag it went and into my makeup bag as a permanent feature.
The cream to power formulation really took me. I'm not one for cream products at the best of times, due to my Combination/Oily skin. But when it turns into a powdery finish I instantly feel I can get away with it more and this generally does work out in the long term. It looks pink in the pot but I'm guessing this is due to it oxidising with the air. As soon as I picked up some product with my brush you could see underneath that the cream was actually a white colour.
I use my miniature Mac 187 brush which I got with a limited edition collection a few years ago at Christmas, gently stippling it onto my cheeks and then blending it upwards and out.
Photographing blush on my cheeks has never really worked out for me, so I've done a quick one on my hand just so you can get an idea for the colour. Obviously this is meant to be unique to everyones skin but this is the shade mine turns and I'm sure yours would be very similar.
It definitely has a pop of colour but it's nothing to stand-out on the cheeks that it wouldn't look natural and pretty. It works perfectly right now giving me a fresh-faced glow, but would work equally as nice as the winter months encroach and the winter chill gives you that pink flush too.
Over all I'm really pleased with my purchase. I've not tried a Bourjois blush before so I'm happy that my first experience has been a good one. I'm definitely intrigued to check out their other shades and see if I can find another lovely non-shimmer blush, perhaps in a slightly peachier shade, for holiday.
