I think I've really misunderstood this product which is why I'm a little disappointed in it. But I feel like lots of people could misunderstand it as well, and it's not just me being a little, well, dense.
I expected that this would work like a volume mousse, but instead of blowdrying it in, you would style your hair afterwards with the lightweight formula to build incredible volume and mirror shine. Where I generally want most volume is at my roots which is where a mousse would be applied, so you can imagine my surprise when I read that this was actually meant to be applied to the lengths and ends.
The clue really should have been in the textured volume but this is certainly more of an after-styling product rather than a work-while-wet product. I thought it would be a soft whipped texture, and while it is still whipped, it's quite a hard product and completely the opposite to what I expected. I generally just get a 10 pence piece amount on my palm, rub my hands together and then tossle my hair with my hands to distribute the product evenly and try and get some volume.
But this is what I don't understand... volume in the mid lengths? No..
It does give my hair a little bit of body but not the body I was thinking. It's frustratingly hard to get my point across but I'm sure you can imagine where I'm coming from. Basically, not having that much volume at your roots and then having a little body further down. Not exactly what I had planned for to be honest. It doesn't even make my hair that shiny. There's a little something going on there but I wouldn't necessarily call this the shine soufflé. It's a little misleading.
Having said all that, a plus point would be that this product really is lightweight. You can't feel the product in your hair but at the same time it makes it incredible soft. Strokeability factor is at an all time max. Haha.
I don't hate the product, I just feel that I misunderstood what it was going to achieve. Had I known it was an after-styling product, like a wax, I probably wouldn't have picked it up. But now I have I'll certainly find a use for it. Just maybe not the use I had originally intended.
