Gosh Lip Lacquer in 008 Dangerous Lips

Oh my word. I am hitting the jackpot when it comes to gorgeous lip products at the moment. After discovering Bourjois' Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in 01 the other day, I figured my lipstick luck was up. Turns out I was completely wrong.

I was eyeing this product up a few weeks ago and even included it in a Budget Beauty Wish List, knowing that I wanted to get my hands on some after payday. But once I had the money to spend, the colours I wanted were sold out. Being the indecisive little nightmare that I am, I almost didn't pick this up when it was back in stock, knowing that I'd already just bought the Bourjois version and was very happy with it. But lets be fair about this.. I'm a beauty blogger. It was always going to end up in my basket. And thank goodness that it did!

Applied with a doe-foot applicator, the formulation really does remind me of the Rimmel Apocalips yet again. Just like the Rimmel version, these are lightweight glosses that pack the colour and staying power of a lipstick into one product. If I had to push myself I might even be inclined to say this Gosh Lacquer is more hydrating than the Apocalips line. So if anything that makes it slightly better, depending on what you're looking for.

I was so shocked at how pigmented this lacquer was. After swatching the baby pink which I bought as well and seeing it to be quite sheer, I never expected the darker shades to pack such a punch. But this is certainly pigmented enough to wear on it's own and I absolutely love that!

It does wear off with eating and drinking but only on the inner edges. After applying a little bit more I was set to go. The gloss lasts a couple of hours before dwindling a little but the colour is still glued in place which is the important part.

The packaging is super cute and reminds me of a little nail polish pot. Let's hope no one picks this up and is disappointed that it wipes off their nails quite quickly!

The Gosh Lip Lacquers are on a 'save £2' offer in Superdrug at the moment. At the lowered price of £4 I think they are a gorgeous little addition to anyones lip product collection. A bargain, essential addition to any girls beauty bag.
