L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Excess Noir

Everyone knows I love my L'Oreal mascaras and this is no exception. I don't know what it is but the brand always gets it completely spot on when it comes to lash products. I can never get enough. The only real surprise here is that it's taken me this long to actually test this product out.

I love the original Volume Million Lashes and have been using it up until very recently when it finally gave up the ghost. After that I decided it was definitely time to revamp my mascara collection and bring some fresh product into my life. The only issue with this was that I didn't know what products to buy. None of the mascaras really jumped out at me - or at least none that I hadn't already tested. However I stumbled across this product with the new releases from L'Oreal and figured it was the perfect mascara for me to test out. Having said that, I feel like this mascara's been on the market for quite a while but either way, it was placed next to the new launches.

The wand is plastic, just like it was on the original. It dips in the middle to give a sort of ripple effect. I don't know what it is about this shape but it seems to grip and grab every little lash and really create that flawless, perfect finish.

It's quite long so it reaches effortlessly into the inner corners and doesn't clump up your outer lashes either. Incredible.

It gives both length and volume in a really flattering way. It looks quite natural but dramatic all at the same time which is one of the reasons why I love it so much. The product holds a curl beautifully all day and there tends to be next to no smudging. I do notice a little coming off my bottom lashes if I've worn this all day, but I often just wear it on the top lashes, in which case there's never any smudging.
And on top of all this, the colour is truly jet black and leads to give that powerful impact that you'd want from a mascara like this.

Over all, it's a dream, just like the original. If I had to pick between the two, I'd say that this one cuts ahead slightly because it creates a little bit more impact. But in all honesty I love them both and would definitely recommend either of them, along with most L'Oreal mascaras, to any of you :)

  3. I tried the original and loved it therefore I'm sure that I would get on well with this too. L'Oreal mascaras are ones that I have never really delved into, maybe I should pick one up next time my current one bites the dust.

    1. Definitely! I think L'Oreal are the best for drugstore mascaras. I don't think I've ever really had one I didn't like. What's your favourite brand? xxo
