Urgh! I'm so annoyed with myself for not liking this product! Why can't I get it to work for me?! I just don't know.
I've been putting off this review for months and months whilst I've been testing this out, but I just can't get my head around what all the hype is about. Maybe it's because my hair's so thick or maybe it's not meant to be used on 3rd day hair? I honestly don't know! But this stuff makes my locks feel even more weighed down - like i've shoved even more product in at the roots and made the situation 10 times worse.
I heard down the grapevine that this dry shampoo uses starch instead of powder to soak up the oil. Please don't quote me on that as I'm not entirely sure that it's true. However, this new method of oil-soaking is meant to make your hair feel weightless and clean within an instant. Combined with the freshly-washed smell and the transparent look of the product you should be on to a winner.... But no.
Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with the freshly washed scent. That always hits me straight between the eyes every time I use this. I don't understand when people say the scent is subtle because it's definitely not too me. Luckily I really like it though. I love that it's colourless too. There's no problems with trying to scrub out any grey residue sitting on the surface. But when it comes to actually doing the clean-hair bit, me and the Dove Dry Shampoo don't get on. I just feel dirty and even more desperate for a shower than I was before. Whyyyyy?!
Is anyone else out there like me? I don't understand why everyone loves it and yet it makes me feel like i've dunked my hair in lard. Someone help? Otherwise in my opinion this is a steer clear product!
