Beauticology Cherry Candy Cane Body Butter

I'll keep this review short and sweet as I've already reviewed this formula twice before. I just wanted to update you with regards to what I thought of the scent and whether the formula differed with the third as it did with the first two.

It's fair to say that this is my least favourite out of the three. I'm not a general lover of cherries to start with. If I had a choice, eating them or smelling them wouldn't be my first pick. Black Forest Gateau is alright but that is where I draw the line. Having said that, the name Cherry Candy Cane made me think of the peppermint red and white striped candy more than a cherry tree. Well, more fool me!

The smell of cherry in this product is overwhelming. In fact, it is so strong that I can't smell any sweet candy cane at all!! I'm really not a fan of it, and what makes it worse is that it's not even a natural cherry scent but a manufactured one like the rest have been. Luckily the Strawberry Swirl version turned out to be really lovely but the other two have lead disappointment. This one more so than Pink Peppermint

Other than that, the formulation is pretty much the same - still more of a gel than anything else and really rather runny! I had to snap this photo very quickly before all the product spilled out onto the side. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. It leads to a quicker absorption rate. All I would say is not to market something as a butter when technically it's not?

  1. What a shame but I completely understand why you're not happy with it. I love most things cherry scented and a really great cherry range is the Rituals Sakura - it smels amazing! :o) Xx

  2. I agree, this looks nothing like a butter, should probably just be called a moisturiser! I much prefer butter formulations so would be a bit upset opening it to find this!

    1. Definitely. It does a lovely job of keeping my skin soft but it's so far from a butter formulation it may as well be chocolate spread haha. xxo
