This product has been on my shopping list for a rather long while now. My Seche Vite has been looking a bit gloppy and sorry for itself for a while now, so I thought I would treat myself to a glossy new top coat. I've heard great things about Sally Hansen's Mega Shine in the beauty community so I figured I would go ahead and see what all the fuss is about!
It was between Sally's Fast Dry Top Coat and her Mega Shine Top Coat but I ended up with this one as I hoped it would give me the glossy finish a love and still not take too long to dry. My hopes were definitely answered as this product dries very quickly - much quicker than I expected - and gives a good shine too.
But honestly, I was a little underwhelmed by the amount of shine given. Seche Vite gives a thick, gel-like look whereas Sally's Mega Shine was incredibly thin I thought. It was still shiny but there wasn't that overload of gloss which was what I was looking for.
I am generally quite hard on my hands at the moment which is probably why this top coat only made my manicure last 3 days before chipping. That's an ok amount of time but I would have hoped for more considering it advertises a 10 day chip-free mani. Then again, I've been carrying heavy boxes recently and the advertising probably didn't take that kind of work into consideration. Having said that I would hope that you don't have to sit down for 10 days and do nothing to keep your manicure pristine.
If I had to pick again, I'd probably head back to Seche Vite. I know that it makes my polish chip less, dries quickly and gives me the results I want. I know it's not the best for your nails but I'm not a nail polish addict who paints them multiple times a week, so I'm sure they will cope.
