L'Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream with Shea Butter

I have never tried anything from L'Occitane before so I jumped at the chance of testing their beauty famous hand creams. Marie Claire were giving away a selection of 3 hand creams last month, so I picked up the one which contains 20% Shea Butter.

Shea Butter is an ingredient I like to look out for in a lot of my body butters and creams. I know that it works really well for me as it is so rich and nourishing. L'Occitane's Shea Butter hand cream is one of their most famous products so I thought it was only fit that I tried this one first.

I don't tend to suffer with terribly dry hands in general. However as the colder months roll in I definitely notice my skin gets a little tighter and could do with that added extra moisture which makes it feel more comfortable. This hand cream seems to do the trick without leaving my hands feeling greasy - a huge bonus as many hand creams do.

I simply slather this thick white cream all over my hands during the day when I feel I need a little extra nourishment, and at night time as part of my routine. It sinks into the skin beautifully. After a couple of minutes it has completely disappears but leaves you with supple skin that lasts for hours.

If I had to pick a con to the product, it would probably be that I'm not the biggest fan of its scent. Personally I think it has that typical 'old lady' smell but it isn't very strong so it doesn't bother me too much. It's certainly not something that would put me off using this product. I would most definitely repurchase it again for those times when my mitts need a little TLC.

I definitely recommend giving this a go if you haven't already. I spotted in John Lewis that they were selling a Christmas Gift Set with 3 of these hand creams in, including the Shea Butter version, which might make a nice gift or would be lovely to pick up yourself if you want to give the range a go.
