Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream

When I made my first ever Origins order a couple of weeks ago, I managed to get my hands on some awesome free samples. In with the bunch was GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream which I had been dying to try out ever since it was released. The sample was only 5ml which I didn't think would last me that long, but I've been using the product for two weeks now and I'm no where near finished. It's definitely a good size to try so if you can get your mitts on one, I really recommend giving it a go before buying full size.

This eye cream aims to reduce the puffiness around your eye whilst brightening the area and refreshing the skin. It doesn't deal with anti-aging but it does claim to help with hydrating the skin and making it feel a little more supple. I do look for some form of anti-aging properties in my eye creams as I feel like I'm more prone to wrinkles there. Therefore I decided to just use this cream in the morning and a different one in the evening. After all the brightening effect wasn't so relevant at night time.

The cream is a lot thinner than I expected. It's more of a watery lotion than a thick and nourishing consistancy. It dries/soaks into the skin incredibly fast and leaves a pearlescent sheen which acts as a brightener. I do feel that this aspect of the product works quite well, along with reducing puffiness to a certain extent, but unfortunately I don't find it terribly hydrating. After a few hours my concealer will look a little dry underneath my eye and that's not an attractive look for anyone.

I feel like I'm more suited to an eye cream that has more hydration and anti-aging properties.  If I wanted to achieve that brightening effect, a lighter concealer or some iridescent setting powder/highlighter would give do the trick. Having said that I'm really happy that I got to try this out and settle my mind about whether it was the right product for me or not. I will probably finish off the sample but I don't think that I will be going to purchase the full sized product.

  1. This is one origins product I really didn't like, I just found it contained a lot of shimmer and didn't do much for my dark circles, definitely not worth the hype xx

    1. I'm still yet to properly test out the other items I got but I'll definitely do reviews of them once I have. I agree though. This product isn't worth the hype to me either xxo

  3. I agree, it's more of a brightener than a hydrating eye cream. I had a sample and used it on top of my eye cream, so not really worth the full size for me either xx

    1. Exactly. I feel like I could use products I already have for the brightening effect whereas I really need that hydration and I'm not getting it from this eye cream xxo
