Lush Mask of Magnaminty Fresh Face Mask

I have been putting off writing this review because I wasn't sure what to say about the product. I've only tested this a couple of times and I've just decided that enough is enough and this simply isn't the product for me.

After discovering Lush's Fresh Face Masks by using Cupcake and falling in love, I really had high hopes for this Mask of Magnaminty version. It had some good reviews from main beauty gurus and I just thought it would be a fabulous addition to my mask-loving collection.

Just like Cupcake, this product aims to help with breakouts and spots. It is meant to be your saviour for those real stubborn last-minute breakouts that you want gone asap. This sounded perfect for me as when I bought this I was suffering with cystic acne and absolutely nothing was making the problem budge.

It looks like green paste and smells super minty, as you would expect considering it contains peppermint oil. Slather this on your face and you will apparently reveal clearer looking skin after 10-15 minutes? Hmm, not for me! I broke out... SO bad after using this mask. I just literally didn't even want to touch it again it was that bad. I have absolutely no idea what it was that my skin really didn't like but it has really put me off giving it another go to be honest with you. I just don't want to risk it.

I feel really disappointed as Cupcake was so skin-changing for the better and I really wanted to delve further into the world of Lush Fresh Face Masks, but this time I got burned. Now I just want to stick to Cupcake for fear of wasting my money on another product that might break me out just as bad. As far as I can tell, Lush aren't actually selling this mask any more. I can't find it on the website. I'm not sure if that is because of their limited edition Christmas products (which look amazing by the way! In love!).

If you have any recommendations of Lush masks to try, please leave them in the comments below. It would be really nice to know if you experienced the same breakouts after using this mask too or if it is just me?

Lush Mask of Magnaminty Face Mask - £4.99 from Lush

  1. Lush isn't selling this anymore? It's okay for me - but can be too strong to be used more than once a week.

    1. They haven't got it online at the moment but they might still sell it in stores. I thought they may have got rid of it for a while to make room for the Christmas products. xxo

  2. You broke out because of the ingredients of the mask, or at least that's what I found. I used it every other night for a few while it purged my skin, then went for a month without a breakout, it's one of my fave Lush products :)

    1. Oh really? I thought the ingredients were meant to prevent you breaking out. But I guess it makes sense that the skin needs to purge. Definitely think I'll still stick to the Cupcake mask though. It seemed to do wonder without breaking me out which is a winner in my eyes. Haha. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it. xxo
