Sanctuary Spa 4 Day Moisture Oil Scrub

I recently started trying out the Sanctuary Spa collection as I have never really ventured into this brand before. I have always been intrigued when I see their products on shelves in Boots, but never took the plunge and bought any. I got to try out the Salt Scrub* which I liked and didn't like for various reasons. I figured that this Oil Scrub* would be a little gentler on the skin which was what it needed, so I was excited to give this a go. Sure enough, I wasn't left disappointed.

Olive Oil, Shea Butter and Gold of Pleasure Oil are just some of the gorgeous ingredients which help to make this scrub so luxurious and soft. Although it still contains the salt crystals which exfoliate the skin, this product is no where near as harsh as the one previously mentioned.

It comes in a slightly less fancy container but much more practical. I still love the packaging regardless as the bright orange intrigues me and unlike others, I like tubs for products such as this. I find it helps me to know how much scrub is left and how long it will last me for so I don't randomly end up running out. Plus I love to see all the product swirled into a gorgeous pattern - even if it doesn't stay like that for very long. Am I the only person that likes that?!

You can already see that this scrub is a lot smoother than the Salt Scrub I tried. However, when applied to the skin, you still get that very thick film of oil that coats you and feels impossible to remove. I expected this to a certain extent as the product claims to leave your skin feeling moisturised for 4 days and would therefore need to contain a certain amount of oil to do so. Once again, when you start to pat yourself dry, the oily residue does subside but I was definitely left with more of a tacky feeling whilst I let my skin soak up the oils.

Once it had done just that, my skin felt dreamy and soft all over again. With regards to the claims about moisturised skin for 4 days, I would say thats a bit of a stretch. After the end of the second day my skin pretty much went back to it's usual state. I don't tend to have very dry skin but I can definitely tell when I've moisturised and when I haven't. This product will certainly help people who hate moisturising post-shower and typically like products such as the Nivea In-Shower Body Conditioner that do the job for you. However this has the added benefit of exfoliation which might appeal more to some.

Personally I really enjoy this product. The thick oil layer does get to me a little but I can look past it. After all, what do you expect from an Oil Scrub! I definitely wouldn't use body lotion with this product, I would simply use it on a more regular basis. And due to it's lighter exfoliation, I feel that I could do that.

If I had to pick one out of the two scrubs that I've tried. This would definitely be my favourite.

Have you tried either of the scrubs mentioned? Let me know your thoughts on them and any other Sanctuary products in the comments below.
