Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara

I feel like I haven't tried a new mascara in ages! Because I always have so many on the go at once, I have started to feel slightly guilty for not using one up first before I purchase another. But when on holiday, it was a once-in-a-blue-moon opportunity to pick up some beauty products I had been wanting to try for ages, and so the Covergirl Lashblast Volume graced my basket.

There were so many to chose from that I felt a little overwhelmed by which one to pick up. There were already some mascaras from other brands that I was eyeing to so I really couldn't convince myself to pick up more than one Covergirl version. I'd heard a lot about them online before I left but as soon as I was graced with the choice I didn't know what I was doing.

I ended up going for this one in the hope that it was going to be incredible and I wouldn't regret not picking up the Clump Crusher.

The packaging is pretty basic. I like that it's orange but other than that there's not really to much to say about it.

Another thing that was nice was getting to see a clean wand before it went into the mascara so that I knew exactly what it looked like. It's funny that I always love coloured wands but as soon as it hits the mascara you're never going to know what colour it was anyway. Haha.

I thought the wand was quite fat and short. I liked this fact as I hadn't really worked with anything extremely similar before. The closest I could think of was my Volume Million Lashes by L'Oreal which I loved.

The fact that it was short lead me to believe it would be easy to get into the inner corners and down into the roots of the lashes to shuffle the product upwards. It turned out that the inner corners were fine but the base work could sometimes be a bit messy.

The mascara looks ok on. It doesn't look overly fantastic. It definitely gives me some volume and a little length. However there is absolutely no way that this mascara can hold a curl. I only put one layer of product on and my eyelashes were instantly weighed down. I have trouble with straight lashes anyways so this was a disappointment for me.

I further realised that it has smudged a bit in the outer corner during the day and there were one to two flakes falling down. Over all, I thought that this product would be better than it was. I started off getting excited about using it but now I'm thinking about giving it to a friend who might get better use from it.

I wish that I had picked up the Clump Crusher but I guess the result could have been the same. Who knows. I know that some girls swear by this mascara but I'm afraid it's just not the one for me.
