Anastasia Brow Wiz Skinny Brow Pencil

The first time I heard about this product was through JuicyStar07 on Youtube or Blair as she's better known. As soon as she mentioned it and I saw her wearing it, it caught my eye. I knew that it would be a product I wanted to try out but at the time I couldn't find anywhere in the UK that sold it.

After that it slipped from my mind until I saw a bunch of UK guru's testing it out and loving it too. This sparked my intrigue again and I knew that it was now permanently on my shopping list. Cult Beauty were stocking it but I didn't really have any money to spend.

Cure to the problem? Buy it in America with the spending money I had earned from work just beforehand. Sorted. The first day we were in New York I strutted to the Anastasia counter and this was the first thing I picked up. I bought the shade Ebony and it matches my brows nicely.

The packaging is ultra slim and chic. I really love the black and gold together. I've never had a twist up pencil before so this was a completely new experience for me.

What I really noticed was that although the pencil has lid caps at the either end, they didn't fall off at all! That is one of my pet peeves! I can't stand it when they just slide off and you're left wondering where on earth they went! Like bobbie pins and hair ties! But that's another story all together. As I was saying before I went off on a tangent.. The lids are attached incredibly well. They click on and off securely, which is very satisfying. To be honest that is a huge selling point for me. The product has been made with love and doesn't feel cheap.

As I explained, you have your twist up pencil at one end and your Spoolie at the other. To start with I absolutely hated the Spoolie. It was so small and I was used to using my No7 one that I bought when I first started doing my brows which is a fair amount bigger. I just felt like I couldn't get the shape I wanted but I have learnt how to use it now and can comb them through much more effectively.

The pencil is incredibly thin and wax like. As you flick it through your brows it creates thin strokes which look like tiny hairs. This means that your brows look a lot more natural when they've been filled in. This is definitely a lighter look which I can't say I prefer over powder because they both create two different looks and it depends which one you are after.

What I do like is how easy it is to fill in the front of your brows without overdoing them so that they look harsh and drawn on. I normally struggle to make this look normal with a powder and often try to skip the front all together. However an idea would be to use the pencil for the front and powder for the rest to get a really perfect finish. I'm not a pro at filling in my eyebrows at the best of times as you will see below, but it certainly helps with this pencil. Now for a weird shot of my face. Do excuse me..

I don't really feel like I need to set my brows with a gel after using this pencil but I do so anyway. I feel that there's nothing to set as the pencil is very unlikely to smudge whereas a powder could definitely stray. I already love the Gosh Defining Brow Gel but i've been testing out the Maybelline Great Lash Gel recently and a review will be coming up within the next couple of days.

Over all I would repurchase this pencil but I feel like I'm going to go through it very quickly. Every time I fill in my brows I have to wind up more of the pencil and it makes me concerned about how much product there was to begin with and how quickly that will be gone! If all else fails I'm happy to go back to powder which lasts a lifetime and use this product only on occasion.

Having said that, it definitely is the best pencil I've found for filling in my brows. It's precise, you don't need to sharpen it and it wears all day without a smudge. Incredible.

Have you tried this Brow Pencil?

    1. I think its worth it because your brows frame your face after all. I just like how they make them look natural and not too heavy :) xxo

  4. I've heard so may people rave about this product so I'm desperate to try it, especially since I am not a fan of eyebrow pencils at all, only powder. Wondering if this is the miracle product that will change my mind.
