Rimmel London Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Paint in 006 Rich Russet

I've been waiting for these paints ever since LilyPebbles mentioned them a while back in her Youtube video.

I've never been one for eye shadows because I find that they always crease on my oily lids. You could say, 'well, have you tried using a primer?' and the truth is that I haven't. I simply decided a long time ago that the look wasn't for me and that it wasn't worth the faff. I have stuck to that sentiment for a long while and never really felt like I was missing out. I like my makeup to look really natural and minimalistic for the most part anyway. I spurred off once and tried a Maybelline Colour Tattoo which still creased on me so I decided to pull away for good.. until now.

These lovely little paints are super simple to use and although they come in limited shades, I have high hopes that there will be more added to the line. But the important thing is, so far no creasing!

The packaging is quite cute and simple. I like that you don't have to go sticking your finger in any tubs to get the product out, like you would with a tattoo. Having said that, I think that the applicator is probably the weirdest thing I've come across. Is it a brush? Is it a doe-foot? I have no clue because it holds so much product it's impossible to tell. The applicator wand is always so clogged with paint that I have to dab a bit on my eye lids and then blend it out with my fingers. If I tried any smudging with the wand, I'd end up with enough product on my eyelids to coat up to my forehead hairline! Not exactly the look I was going for.

But it works really well. I apply a little across the lid and it gives me a subtle easy wash of shimmer that I'm perfectly happy sporting on it's own. I think these products are perfect for makeup beginners that are just starting out with eye shadow and want an easy, fuss-free look. They are ridiculously easy to wash off. A little bit of water is all you need to remove these paints, yet they have such great staying power. I'm tempted to go back and pick up the silver as I think that a sheer wash of sparkle on the lids would look really flattering. I'm not sure I'm sold on the other colours which consist of purple, grey and gold. If you've tried them and liked them, please let me know in the comments below :)
