Estée Lauder Pleasures Perfume

I have heard so much about Bronze Goddess by Estée Lauder in the beauty community recently. It seems to be the fragrance to have this year if you want something that is summery and reminds you of a good time on holiday. Unfortunately I have not actually had the chance to stop and smell that perfume, so I can't really give my opinions on it. What I can do though, is tell you all about another perfume that Estée Lauder have called Pleasures.

I received this little sample in my free gift bag when I bought a couple of their foundations a few weeks back now. I was really pleasantly surprised that it came in a nice glass bottle which is bigger than those usual little samples, and that it had a spray instead of a stick to apply it with. These qualities will instantly make me more likely to actually test out the perfume and wear it more often. But that's really beside the point when I want to talk to you about the fragrance and not what the sample packaging is like.

This is definitely a wham, bam, hit-you-in-the-face floral scent. There is no doubt about it. You may as well go and shove your head in a bouquet of lillies. I mean let's put it this way... I have a terrible time describing fragrances and picking out the notes in certain ones, but even I could instantly tell you that the head note of this was going to be lillies. This definitely seems to me like it would have been the perfect perfume to couple with my garden party post I did a little while back. It's extremely sheer - not heady.

Breakdown of the notes:
Top Notes: White Lily, Violet Leaves and Green Accents
Middle Notes: Black Lilac, White Peony, Karo-Karounde Blossoms, Baie Rose, Pink Rose and Jasmine
Base Notes: Sandalwood and Patchouli

I think this would be a great fragrance for a wide range of ages. Obviously you can wear whatever perfume you want, but I tend to find that some sweeter scents definitely smell younger to me and some musky, floral scents definitely smell older. But Pleasures keeps the fresh crisp note which makes me want to wear it, but also contains those strong floral vibes that I feel will make it appeal to older women. It's a definite winner if your mum's birthday is coming up in the next few weeks!

  1. I like lillies so I might like this one. I haven't had the chance to smell Bronze Goddess, so I may just go on a sniffing spree one day.
