Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

Probably one of the most famous face masks around at the moment is Ren's Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask*. It aims to remove dead skin cells and brighten your skins appearance whilst reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also combat blemishes and blackheads. I was mostly interested in the exfoliating qualities to start with, as I was really interested in adding an enzyme exfoliant into my skincare routine. The acids from Passionfruit, Lemon, Grape and Pineapple are added to Papain from Papaya to encourage the renewal of the outer layer of skin which should leave you with a super soft and smooth face which is a great base for makeup.

I tend to use this once a week and definitely feel that I wouldn't use it more than that as it is quite exfoliating. It could be used once every fortnight depending on your skin type.

The mask comes out as an orange gel that smells really fruity. You apply this all over your face and then leave it for 10 minutes before wiping it off with a hot cloth and rinsing. The mask never dries and I never feel anything going on but it definitely does work.

To start with I don't notice any difference, but over the next couple of days I notice how smooth and soft my skin has become. I'm not so sure about the concept of brightening the skin as mine tends to look the same. However by lifting off the dull and dry skin cells, you will immediately look a bit fresher and healthier.

I'm not sure if it combats blemishes and blackheads either. I've not really been spotty when I've put this on (touch wood), but once I've taken it off I sometimes have a whitehead that has come to the top. It's not a major spot and normally disappears within a few hours and that's it. I have a few congested pores around my nose and I wouldn't say that they have gotten better or worse from using this mask.

Over all, I was interested in it for it's exfoliating qualities and they work incredibly well for me. This is why I would definitely be repurchasing it and using it weekly in my routine to help keep my skin fresh and smooth.
