Bumble and Bumble Surf Set

I've always wanted to try Bumble and Bumble products but have never made that final trip to the check out because of the prices. I don't tend to go for full sized products of expensive items if I don't know whether I will like it or not. That's why when I saw that Bumble and Bumble were releasing this amazing travel sized Surf set, I couldn't get down to my local Boots quick enough to get my hands on one of them. For just £18 you get to try out all three products and there's plenty of product in them too. From what I have used already, I'd guesstimate that you could get at least 12 washes out of the shampoo if you shampooed twice in one go. The conditioner would last much longer as it tends to do and the Surf spray can be used when needed.

First i'll start with the shampoo and conditioner - both of which smell lovely. The scent reminds me a lot of holidays and being on the beach. Having said that, it's still not the best smelling shampoo I have ever used. I thought I was going to be knocked back by it but it didn't blow me away. It doesn't lather as much as my usual Herbal Essences but it definitely did a good job of getting my hair feeling squeaky clean. The conditioner was smoothing and a nice additional touch to get your hair feeling soft. Over all I wasn't taken back by these products but they are great for travelling.

The first time I used the shampoo and conditioner, I followed with the Surf Spray as directed. It instantly gave my hair a gorgeous beachy wave and texture which I've never experienced before. Although after applying this product, my hair felt a bit dirty. My locks turned a bit crispy in places and as you would imagine, there was no shine to be seen. Therefore the next time I tried this set I simply stuck to the shampoo and conditioner which worked a lot better. My hair felt a lot smoother and had a decent amount of volume.

Over all I'm a bit disappointed to say that I wasn't blown away by this set. I had such high hopes for it but personally I feel that it turned out to be a little lack lustre. I know that a lot of people love these products and I'm sure that they work differently for everyone. I have extremely thick hair so this could be a point to consider. Either way, I will still be trying out some other products from the brand to see how I get on with those as I find the whole range intriguing.

Have you tried these Bumble and Bumble products? What did you think of them?

  1. I was tempted to pick up this set but in the end just went for the 50ml Surf Spray for £9.50 to try out. I haven't had a chance to try it yet so am excited to see how it turns out for me! :)
