Barry M Lipstick in TMLP 318

I've been intrigued about this lipstick ever since I saw Wonderful You (aka Megs) talking about it on her Youtube channel. I kept forgetting to check it out when I headed into Boots. It doesn't really stand out on the shelf and I've never seen any special ads or marketing surrounding it which is a bit odd. It's one of those gimmicky products that you would buy just because it's intriguing and different. It's probably not something you would buy because it gives you something that other products couldn't. It is, in a nut shell, a lip tint.

This Barry M Lip Tint/Stick/Balm/Whatever-It's-Marketed-As comes in a lipstick tube and looks like a vibrant green lipstick at first glance. It is known only as TMLP (aka Turn My Lips Pink). The general  concept is to apply the green lipstick to your pout, which then comes off clear and swiftly changes colour when it reacts to your skin's natural PH balance. It is meant to turn the perfect, unique shade for you.

The formulation is a lot more balmy than I expected. The consistency reminds me a lot of Revlon Lip Butters. I really like this quality as it is comfortable to wear and doesn't dry out your lips.

It turns a vibrant pink on my lips which I don't think is represented very well in the picture. I actually don't love the colour on me very much as I find it too harsh and shocking on my skin tone. However in the picture it looks a lot more barbie-pink and a lot more flattering. In theory, everyones shade is different but i've heard a lot of girls report that it turned very vibrant on them.

Because it applies clear, I find that it can be a little bit tricky to apply neatly. Especially when it comes to the corners of your mouth. It turns pink almost instantly and can be difficult to wipe off without makeup remover and therefore ruining the efforts you've just put in. I generally try to touch up with concealer which works well.

Overall I wouldn't repurchase this product, simply because the colour is not for me... ironically. However I would definitely say to check it out, because let's face it.. It's pretty cool and a bit intriguing too!

  2. I think I would buy this purely out of curiosity. I'm not sure what to make of it, it just seems pot luck whether you like the colour or not. I like the colour in the picture though, the real colour might be nicer for night. x

    1. I think that if you generally like quite hot pinks then you will like this. It's quite a dark hot pink but it just doesn't suit me. Except from in the picture! lol. Let me know if you check it out :) xxo

  3. This is a very curious product.. I would like to know what ingredients this lipstick contains and how it changes colour..
From the photos look more like a lip balm than a lipstick.
