Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara

Boots sent me a voucher in the post last month, stating that this mascara (normally £6.29) could be mine for as little as £2! £2! I would be crazy not to give it a try. It is my duty as a beauty blogger to give all beauty products I can get my hands on a thorough once over.

I can't tell you about my struggle to get my hands on this little baby though. It seemed that everyone had the same idea as me and trotted down to Boots with voucher in hand the day that the vouchers were sent out! I couldn't find a black version anywhere - just black/brown. Finally when visiting my friend in Kent I managed to pick one up from Bluewater. I had personally started to think that they either didn't do the mascara in black or that they'd never get it back in stock. So just incase you're having the same problems as me, hold on in there.

The packaging is pretty simple and cute. I like the red, white and black colour scheme. The bow on the tube is a really sweet touch too. The name is quite nice and over all I had high hopes for it.

The wand is plastic, but Benefit have already proven how great those can be with their They're Real mascara so I'm not too put off by that.

(Left is without mascara and right is with one coat)

As you can see, there is an obvious difference between no mascara and mascara, as you would expect when you use any product like this. However I wouldn't say that the results were vast. If you're the type of person that wants to wear makeup but look au-natural, this might be the perfect product for you. It lengthens a little bit and separates each lash but there is nothing overly crazy going on with the formulation of this mascara.

It was really easy to get off and didn't seem to flake or smudge which I was happy about. Having said this, I don't think I would buy it again as there are better high street mascaras on the market. I'm personally a huge fan of L'oreal Paris, so if your looking for a new mascara to try, definitely go and check them out.

What mascara are you using right now? Do you prefer to use two at the same time and layer? Let me know in the comments below.

    1. Yeah. It's amazing for natural looks or even if you've got blonde lashes and want them to appear darker without tonnes of mascara :) xxo

  5. I grabbed this when it was first out, it was on promotion for £5.29 instead of the £6.29! I really like it but I agree it is lacking a little something. My favourite mascara has got to be Max Factor's Masterpiece Max, it does everything you could possibly want a mascara to do! x

    1. I think I got an eye infection after trying that mascara and now I stay away from Max Factor incase it's something to do with the formulation. There are some amazing ones out there on the high street though :) xxo
