Talon Tuesday!

Hey girlies! Here's my second Talon Tuesday post.

I actually just realised that the last one is quite similar to this one. I must have a theme going on at the moment where I am loving glitter. Either way, today I attempted a glitter ombre. I kinda made it up as I went along.

I knew that I wanted it to look something like the OPI Glinda Oz nails that I have seen in a few pictures recently. However because I'm skint, I tried to pull from the polishes I already have.

I started off with Ciate Bon Bon which came with a magazine a while back. I thought that this was the closest shade I had to OPI's I Theodora You Polish. I then pulled out Rimmels Majestic, China Glaze Techno and Rimmel's Glitter Top Coat but only ended up using the last two and I'm really pleased with how it looked.

I dabbed a bit of the Rimmel glitter onto the end of my nails, reaching to about mid way. Then I did a second coat before deciding that it needed a little bit more 'umph'! That's where China Glaze came in. I mainly wanted to use the chunky glitter from this polish on the very tips of my nails to give them some sparkle and focus. Once everything was dry I simply sealed it with my Seche Vite Top Coat.

I'm really happy with how my first attempt turned out. I know a common way to create ombre is by using a sponge, but I didn't have one to hand and didn't know how well it would work with a clear glitter polish. If you have any tips and tricks on what I should try next time, please let me know in the comments below :)
