Mother's Day Gift - Chanel No5

With there being so many fragrances on the market now, it can be easy to forget about the loyal, honest to good scents that have been around for a while. When I think of a classic perfume that everyone loves, I think of Chanel No5. I also think of Mother's Day because it is one of my mum's favourite perfumes (Well, that and No19 - she doesn't have expensive taste at all).

That's why I wanted to write this post today - to remind any of you who are struggling to figure out what to get for the 10th of March that the perfect gift is right under your nose, and my god it smells great!

You can buy the perfume in various sizes which lead to various price tags. For a slightly more affordable version you could purchase the spray which is £46 for 35ml or £65 for 50ml, or if you're really feeling like splashing out £92 for 100ml. This isn't the cheapest perfume to buy, but if you have a little put aside for a rainy day and think you haven't been appreciating your mum as much as you should recently, this is the way to go.

It comes presented with a box inside a box. It reminds me of playing pass-the-parcel when I was younger. It was always really exciting to have the music stop on me so that I could reveal what was under the next layer.

The notes are:
Top Notes: Aldehydes, Neroli, Ylang-Ylang, Bergamot and Lemon
Middle Notes: Iris, Orris Root, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley and Rose
Base Notes: Amber, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Musk, Civet, Vanilla, Oak Moss and Vetiver

This is quite a complex scent. However, if you know what other perfumes your mum wears and can find out the notes from those, you could be on to a winner when it comes to comparing it with this.

There is never a disappointed face on a woman who is presented with a Chanel gift bag. There is a magical feeling which surrounds the brand and makes every single lady feel special. That's why I recommend this for a Mother's Day gift. After all, they're wonder woman to us for the other 364 days of the year. They deserve a treat every now and then :)
