Birchbox Review - La Sultane De Saba Body Lotion

Here is another product which I received in my March Birchbox. I am a huge fan of body lotions ever since I discovered my holy grail Yves Rocher Repair Lotion. Therefore I was extremely excited to give this product a try.

I've never heard anything about the brand before. However, after doing some research I understand that  La Sultane De Saba have many spas in France where body care products and candles are used and sold. All the items look absolutely divine on their website so I'm more than excited to try this lotion (£26.50) out.

I find it so annoying that the body lotion has been put in this long, thin plastic tube. It is sometimes difficult to get the product out and I feel that it will be hard to use all of the sample up without wasting some. Having said this, I understand that the full size products come with a pump which makes sure that this won't be an issue.

The consistency is pretty standard. The lotion is reasonably thin and therefore applies to the skin extremely easy. It takes zero effort to massage this product into the desired area. I tested this out on my legs and I found that it absorbed in seconds and left no greasy residue. The smell was also very pleasant. It reminds me a little bit of baby lotion - almost powdery. I think I can sense a hint of shea butter but I'm not sure about that as it's not listed on the ingredients.

After immediate application I couldn't really feel any difference to my skin texture. Normally when I moisturise after getting out of the shower, my skin feels supple and nourished. But I just did not get this feeling at all. It was almost like I hadn't applied any product whatsoever.

I decided to only use this on one leg so that I could compare later results to the leg that hadn't been moisturised. What did I find? Absolutely no difference whatsoever. Both legs felt exactly the same and I was left wondering what the point was of even applying the lotion in the first place.

This leaves me completely bemused. I have never used a lotion before that seems to give me no benefits. It's safe to say I'm confused.

Personally I wouldn't use this product again. I simply can't comprehend how it made no difference at all. I think that I will be sticking with my Yves Rocher or Di Palomo Body Butter if I want my skin to feel some deep hydration.
