Top 3 Nude Lipsticks... so far!

I am a huge fan of lipsticks that I class as 'my lips but better' shades. Most of the time I wear nude lipsticks or sightly more berry toned ones that give my face a little warmth. So with that in mind, I thought I would do a short 3 piece series on my favourite nude and berry lipsticks along with best lip liners to go with them. With spring coming around, it's nice to try and keep your face looking natural, dewy and fresh and I believe that these colours will do just that.

So first we have Mac Marilyn Monroe Lipstick in Pure Zen. Although this is in limited edition packaging, you can buy this from Mac's permanent line in the normal black and silver tube. Personally I am a sucker for something that's limited edition and absolutely adore the packaging on this. It makes me feel like I have something that's exclusive, which makes using it even more exciting.

Next we have YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 11. Although the packaging on this is very pretty, it is also extremely unpractical. As you can see, mine has got scratched to pieces in my makeup bag, which ruins it a little. If I could go back, I would keep it in its box because it breaks my heart every time I look at how damaged it is.

Finally we have 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive. The packaging has changed since I bought mine. It is now a lot more classic with a square black tube and a pull out mirror. On the other hand, this packaging is easy to find in my makeup bag. Plus I love the satisfying click that the lid makes when you slide it back onto the tube. Simple things!

From this picture the lipsticks all look the same shade. However you will see from the pictures below that they aren't, even if they are very similar in tone. I love that the YSL lipstick has the initials printed on the product. Not only does it look pretty in pictures, but it reminds me of how luxurious the product is. I don't know if any of you feel that too? But I guess that's just how I am. Weird I know!

So, my favourite nude lipstick is the Mac one. It's glossy which helps me to feel really fresh faced. It also has a warmer peachy undertone which helps to bring my face to life. The last thing you want to do is look washed out! At £14 it is in the middle of my price range here. I know that some people would think that it's too much to spend on a cosmetic product but I disagree. Mac is a great, respected brand that sells really high quality product. The lipstick smells amazing and it looks amazing. The packaging is gorgeous and it doesn't dry my lips out. Therefore I think it's worth the money :)

Next we have the YSL lipstick which I will admit makes me look a tiny bit washed out in this picture. It is hard to control the light whilst taking pictures during the day, but I would say it is a reasonable representation of the colour. I just don't look as pale as this picture portrays. Haha. I love this product because again, it has a bit of a shine to it. I would say that this lipstick has more of a pearl effect too it. It makes you look really fresh faced and I feel that the colour seems to warm the longer you wear it. It can wear off a little quickly so it's good to keep it in your bag for touch ups. It's the most expensive lipstick in this post at £23.50, which I do feel is a little pricey. However its YSL so I guess you are paying for the name.

Finally we have the high street version. 17 Mirror Shine lipstick in Beehive is £4.79 and is probably the best value for money. The only reason that this comes in third is because it doesn't last very long on the lips, it can come across as sheer sometimes and the packaging isn't as nice as the other two. Having said this, it reaches my top three nudes for a reason! It's a stunning colour that I believe will work well on every single skin tone. It's warm and glossy, plus it makes me feel nice when I look in the mirror and see it. You can't ask for more than that when you're spending less than a fiver!

So there we have it - a round up of the best nudes I own. If you have a favourite nude lipstick that I haven't mentioned, please leave the name in the comments below so that I can go and check it out!

Next up will be my berry nude lipsticks early next week, so watch out for that :)
