Marks and Spencers Hand Warmers!

This is probably one of the most random posts I have ever done on my fashion and beauty blog. However I just realised that I hadn't blogged today and since I didn't have anything already planned I thought I would blog about these babies. I tried them out for the first time today and I think they're a brilliant idea for a girl like me who's hands are always freezing. I think I have bad circulation. In honesty I wish they did ones for feet too! I can't stand cold feet. Anyways, that is beside the point.

I received these for Christmas from my boyfriend's sister. The idea is to take the pouch out of the cute knitted sleeve, then press the metal circle until it clicks. This creates a chemical reaction and the clear liquid inside the pouch turns white and hard. After this you pop the pouch back inside it's knitted case and use it as a hand hot water bottle equivalent. They can be reused over and over. All you need to do is simmer the pouch in boiling water for 10 minutes, then the liquid turns clear again and effectively the pouch is recharged.

The heat is lovely and they do work quite well. It takes a while for the heat to work through the knitted sleeve. Therefore to start with I thought you were meant to put your hands inside the knitted holder too along with the heat pouch. Only my fingers would fit but my hands got warm quicker.

They stay warm for a surprising length of time. Here I am writing this review and the pouch is still hot, 20 minutes after I started it off. This will definitely come in handy as we take a plunge into the cold later this week.

I hope you didn't mind this review for a change. We will return to beauty tomorrow, I assure you :)

If you have these or have tried something similar, please let me know in the comments below. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  1. I have some little handwarmers too... they're amazing! They're a pain when it comes to reheating them but I love watching them change as they heat up!
