Book Worm #9 - Delirium by Lauren Oliver

I know I said that I would be reviewing the third and final 50 Shades book next but here we are with a fresh new author instead. I started to get really bored and tired of the 50 shades series and in the end stopped reading all together. This is why it has taken me so long to get another Book Worm post out. However on New Years Eve I decided to treat myself and start afresh. I've thoroughly enjoyed Delirium, as you can tell by how fast I've finished it. It's definitely one I would recommend to anyone who likes Twilight, The Hunger Games or similar books to these.

My friend Becky recommended it to me and from the blurb I knew it would be my kind of book. She warned me that the books are addictive and you want to know what happens next straight away. She wasn't lying. I haven't been able to put this book down and am now starting the second in this trilogy. The third and I presume final book is being released later this year which I can't wait for. I have also done some research and found out that Fox has rights to make this book into a movie which is something to look forward to. I just hope that if this ever happens, they make a good job of it and it looks exactly how I imagine it. It's a bit of an ask but hey! Here's a bit about the book....

Lena is a 17 year old living in a little town called Portland. She is one of the unlucky uncureds living in the safe zone. It's only a little while until her evaluation day and her procedure. Then she will be able to live a happy life - without love. Until then she is careful of not breaking the rules, not mixing with boys that are uncured and certainly not entering the wilds. Soon she realises that everything isn't how it seems. Is it better to live a whole life without love or fight for the time you have? Lena's time is running out...

This has to be one of the best books I have read in a long time. The author does a great job of describing everything in detail so that you feel like you are involved and part of the story yourself. You even start to wonder how you would feel if you were in Lena's position and maybe get a little emotionally attached to the characters, or you do if you're me! Haha.

The second book is slightly shorter than the first one so I'm hoping to get the next review up as soon as possible :) I really would urge you all to read this series though :) You won't regret it.
