NOTD - Rimmel Precious Stones Nail Polish in 002 Ruby Crush

I wanted to pick this up and try it because I was looking for a dupe of OPI's Gettin' Miss Piggy With It. My problem with the OPI polish was that it took about 10 or 11 coats to come out as a strong, solid glitter polish. Although it looked amazing afterwards, I do not have the time nor the patients to sit there and do that on a regular basis. OPI is clearly more of a top coat of glitter rather than a one colour polish.

So I stumbled across this in Boots and thought it would be worth a go. It states on the bottle that it is 'high coverage' which boded well with my aim to get a 2-3 coat glitter. And I can now reveal that it does live up to its name and I am very happy. It took me 3 coats to create the look above and roughly about 15 minutes to do it. This is the fasting drying glitter polish I have ever known. It is amazing for those last minute decisions to paint your nails with no time to do it in. It's super christmassy and really catches peoples eyes.

The only thing I would say with this polish is that it needs a top coat. Above I have not included a top coat and although the glitter sparkles, there is no shine to it what so ever. It feels a little rough so I think a nice top coat would seal it in and give it a smooth shimmering finish.

Do you have any favourite glitter polishes for this time of year? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. This looks fabulous, although I agree in that a top coat will seal the deal :)

    1. Definitely. The polish is a bit of a nightmare to get off actually. One of the worst which is a bit disappointing. xxo
