JolieBox Review - Redken Align 12 Protective Straightening Lotion

If you have seen my twitter feed recently, you might find my review of this product as a bit of a shock. I actually tweeted a picture of the bottle, claiming that I couldn't open it and was going to end up cutting it in half to get the product out. I kid you not, the lid was not budging. However, as soon as I got home, ol' mighty muscles (aka my father) opened it like it was just loosely attached! What is that?! The thing was welded on I swear!! Anyways..

I'm glad that the lid is off because it makes it a lot easier to use this product and I'm really glad I get to because it's quite a nice lotion to use. It smells a little like baby powder or something. I can't quite put my finger on the scent but I like it a lot. It lingers on the hair a little bit but after a day its gone.

I smoothed this onto the lengths of my wet hair and then blow dried it. I usually use a few different products but I wanted to use this just on it's own so I could find out what the performance was really like. Overall I think it's alright when it comes to straightening my hair. It made my hair very soft without a doubt but my hair is thick and long, and the cream didn't exactly make it overly straight really. I then waited for my hair to cool down and then straightened it. It did go very straight when this happened but it also felt a little frizzy, like strands of hair was sticking out and it wasn't very sleek. This got better throughout the day though.

So in general it's not a bad product. I wouldn't go as far to say it's my favourite of all time and I will ditch everything else and just use this product from now on. However I am happy to use it all up. It's not like I feel that it is pointless.

Have you tried this product? If yes, let me know what your thoughts are on it and what kind of hair you have so everyone can figure out how it might perform on theirs :)
