17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Camisole

I am not digging this lipstick at all.

I discovered Mirror Shine lipsticks a while back when a fellow blogger recommended them to me. I bought Beehive at the time and absolutely fell in love with it. It was such a warm nude and looked so smooth and shiny on the lips. Therefore when I saw that 17 had release a couple of new shades I jumped on the bandwagon. They have also given the lipsticks a redesign and the new packaging is sleek and classic. It also holds a hidden mirror which is a great idea. Although every time I open the lipstick the mirror gets yanked out which is quite annoying.

Camisole looked like a really creamy beige nude - a lot like my new Pure Zen lipstick by Mac which is my favourite lipstick by far. I had high hopes for it. But it has let me down on all accounts because it's just too sheer and milky. It looks like a washout and the colour looks seriously blotchy on my lips. The picture above actually makes it look a lot better than it is but I assure you it is no Pure Zen.

I think I will just stick to Beehive next time. This range of lipsticks feel a bit hit and miss.

Do you feel the same? Have you tried these lipsticks? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I swatched this in Boots yesterday after seeing a huge display for them and I'm glad I didn't pick it up now. That mirror is certainly annoying! x

    1. Aha, lucky escape! The mirror is a great idea but it's going to break soon! So annoying! xxo

  2. I swatched it yesterday too! I thought it just looked a little bit sheer and didn't really do very much, it's a shame because the bullet looks like such a lovely delicate colour!
