I bought this product just before I went on holiday in early July. I didn't want to take it with me just in case it exploded somehow or got lost so I bided my time until I got back to try it. I started by using it just at night time and then progressed on to using it morning and night and the results are outstanding.
The Mac Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel (what a mouthful!) aims to intensely hydrate and leave the skin feeling soft, smooth and looking luminous. It was brought out with the Heavenly Creature Skin collection along with a matching eye cream, cleanser and exfoliator. I was most interested in this product simply because I do not have a moisturiser that I am completely happy with.
I have always had a battle with moisturisers because of how oily my skin is. At first I didn't want to use one because I felt it would make my skin more greasy and that was the last thing I wanted. However I soon came to terms with the fact that my skin was producing so much oil partly because it wanted moisture. This is when I decided to look into products like this. The best one I had found up until this one was the Essential Care Organic Rose Moisturiser which came in a previous JolieBox. That one worked really well for me but I still wasn't entirely comfortable with using it. After a while I felt that my skin was breaking out a little so I went in search for a better product.
This is when I found this product. I didn't really know much about it when I stumbled across it in the store. I had heard that gel moisturisers were better for oily skin and that's what ultimately drew me towards it. I swatched a bit on my skin and loved how smooth it felt so I took the plunge and bought it.
I had been using it sparingly at first because I was weary of breaking out again and the product not agreeing with my skin type but it's working extremely well. I have been using it for just under a month now and the change in the texture of my skin is remarkable. I tend to use products for around a month to get a feel for them because I don't believe that your skin will have run a cycle and regulated properly to the product until that point. This is why I know that this product is for keeps. It's made my skin smoother in texture and it looks like it has also improved my hyperpigmentation. Overall my skin looks and feels more flawless and though I still get the occasional spot and my skin is by no means perfect, this product has helped out no end.
Unfortunately it is sold out on the net but I am contemplating nipping into a store to see if I can pick up a reserve from there. Hopefully it isn't going to be one of those limited edition products that we don't see again for months on end. It is a little expensive at £26 as most things are in Mac but for me, it's worth every penny.
