Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing Powder

Although I only picked up this bronzer recently, I have had knowledge of it for a while. It was only when Bourjois changed the packaging for it that it caught my eye in Boots whilst I was browsing. Ironically I bought the old packaging because I think the new design is a little bit tacky. I'm not even a massive fan of this packaging either to be honest.

Another thing I noticed was that the old packaging and the new packaging hold different shades of bronzer. I presume that they are meant to be the same but you can definitely tell the difference. The new packaging holds are darker shade whereas this product is slightly lighter.

I did have a worry that when I swatched this it looked a bit orange. However, I had heard great things about the product and decided to buy it regardless.

It is strongly perfumed and is meant to smell of chocolate. On the contrary, you can make out a faint smell of chocolate but for the majority it just smells like strong perfume. Putting perfumed products on your skin is often not adviced but I must admit that I've never had a problem with it.

On a whole I actually like it. The colour works well on my fair skin (I'm NC20 for reference) and doesn't look orange or muddy. There are meant to be glints of shimmer in the bronzer which I tend to avoid as I have an oily skin type but the shimmer isn't over powering at all. When I'm wearing the bronzer I can't really make out the shimmer at all. It's great to warm up my complextion and what I am most pleased about is that it looks quite natural on. Being so pale I struggle to find a bronzer I am really happy with but this one is nice.

Comparing it to other products, I would still pick my Sleek Contour Kit bronzer over this one, but if you're in the market for trying something new, this could be your baby.

  1. I've thought about getting this a few times, I always thought it would be a little orange on me as I'm pale like you but it sounds like it works well. The Sleek contour kit is also on my wish list so maybe I'll go for that one xx

    1. The sleek one is great cuz it highlights and contours. But this is just a good all-round general bronzer for day to day use. xxo
