Maybelline Popsticks in 060 Citrus Slice

Maybelline release new products on such a regular basis that I find it hard to keep up with sometimes. These Popsticks were released a little while ago and I had spent quite a lot of time pondering over which colour I wanted to buy before I actually made a purchase. The weird thing about these lip tints is that the stick itself is often completely different to the colour payoff that you actually gain from the product.

There are 5 different shades but personally I wouldn't go and choose one by the colour tab. With these lip tints I think its very important that you swatch them first to find the colour you want.
This Popstick is bright orange but the shade on your lips is more of a bright pink. I wanted to pick one which was going to give me a pop of colour as I tend to keep my outfits quite muted, so for me this is a great way to spice up an outfit.

The smell of the product is really plastic and I don't enjoy that to much. It is also pretty tasteless. I thought it would be quite nice if it tasted of fruit to get in the summer spirit but at least it doesn't taste horrible. As a lip tint, it works extremely well! The colour is beautiful, the application is hygienic and it makes you lips baby soft and smooth. It feels very moisturising, almost like a balm and I think these are great proprieties to have from a summer lip product. It creates a little bit of a sheen to the lips which brings a bit of a glow to your face without it being sticky or making you look greasy.

Overall I am really pleased with it and would definitely pick up another. I seem to be coming across a lot of moisturising lip products recently that actually work! This is great because I can't think of anything worse than that dry, peeling feeling that some lipsticks can give.

Have you tried these Popsticks? Which one is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below :)

    1. They are pretty cool tho some aren't as pretty. lol. I really enjoy it. I keep it in my handbag and have been using it as a summertime lip balm to give me a hint of fruity colour as well. Enjoying it a lot :) xxo

  2. I swatched them all in Boots yesterday and this was the one I would have chosen if I wasn't being tight with my money. The others confused me as their colour tabs were bright pink yet the popstick itself was a weird brown colour. This one looks gorgeous on you and tbh it's tempting me - after all I am a beauty blogger so that's my excuse to ignore my spending 'ban'! It is a shame they don't smell or taste like the name suggests, but there again, they really would remind me of those sweets from when I was younger where you pushed them up! Oops sorry for a long comment, again!
