Yves Rocher Repair Lotion for Extra Dry Skin

I have a confession to make - I am not very good when it comes to moisturising my skin. I don't have very dry skin to begin with so I sometimes don't feel the need to. Having said this, after trying this product I can honestly say it makes me want to include moisturising my skin as part of my beauty regime and has become something that I enjoy doing.

Yves Rocher is a brand focusing closely on natural and botanical beauty products. Although it is already well established in the US and Canada, it is still relatively new over here in the UK.

The Repair Lotion for Extra Dry Skin* retails for around £4.75. It is paraben free and contains botanical based ingredients such as organic Shea butter and various oils to help nourish and moisturise the skin. Although I do not have extremely dry skin, I still wanted to give this a try to see how well it worked for me.

As odd as this may sound, I began by testing it on one leg only. I wanted to be able to compare the difference to see if I was actually benefiting from the product at all.

The first thing I noticed was that the lotion was not greasy at all. I can not even begin to describe how happy this made me. I hate it went a product feels like it lays on the skin rather than sinking in, but this product absorbed like a dream. Straight away my leg felt much softer and the skin seemed more supple.

The smell of the Shea Butter is gorgeous. I am sure you have all smelt it before, but it reminds me a lot of The Body Shop Shea Body Butter - surprise surprise! On the other hand, this product is much easier to use as it is more of a liquid that you can run over your skin. I find that The Body Shop version is a bit more stiff as it comes literally as a butter in the tub.

After testing it out on one leg, I progressed to use it all over the body. I was actually really surprised with how much of a difference this product made. I can now definitely tell the difference between moisturised skin and non-moisturised skin. On a whole my skin is smoother and softer to touch which is really lovely. It also smells great too. The smell does linger on the skin but it is not something you can smell all day long.

I am definitely pleased with this product and am looking forward to using it all up. I think that it is also a really affordable price and would definitely repurchase it when I run out.

Have you tried any Yves Rocher products, or have any favourite body moisturisers? Let me know in the comments below.

  3. This sounds like a great alternative to The Body Shop one, I do like that one but agree with you about it being a little stiff/thick! Would much prefer a more fluid one like this :)
