Ciate Mother of Pearl Caviar Manicure

I have been waiting for these Caviar Manicure sets to come back into stock ever since I first caught a glimpse of them on Instagram. I think that they look absolutely adorable on, and think that the white version would actually look rather nice for a wedding manicure if you were feeling a bit adventurous.

You can get the Ciate Caviar Manicures in three different shades: black, white and multicoloured/pink. I personally went for the white because I thought that black would be too dark and the white looked a little bit more my style.

As soon as this arrived in the post I couldn't wait to try it on. I have never owned anything by Ciate before so I didn't know what to expect from the quality, which made me even more intrigued.

To create this look, all you need to do is paint your nails with the polish. Wait for the first coat to dry and then paint another coat. While this is still wet, tap on the micro pearls that come in the set and press them into the nail. Leave this for 10-15 minutes and then run a bit of clear top coat along the ends of the nail to seal in the beads if you wish.

When I painted my first coat I was a little bit concerned. The polish seemed very thick and was applying quite streaky on my nail. I found it difficult to judge how much polish to keep on the brush which is not usually a problem I come across. However, after the second coat the nails were completely opaque and flawless which I was very happy with.

The pearls look very pretty on. In the light they seemed to change from white to a variety of different pastel shades. I really liked this and thought that it gave my nails some character.

Unfortunately the manicure didn't last very long before the pearls started to fall off. By the third day you could notice that they were chipping so I removed them completely.

I think that this is a lovely treat to have done. I wouldn't constantly paint my nails over and over with this, but if I fancied a change, I think it's great. At £18 it is a little bit pricey, especially if you order it online like I did, which has a charge of £4.95 P&P. However, if you use it every so often, I am sure it will last you a little while.

Have you tried any of the manicures or Ciate polishes? Let me know how you got on.

  1. I saw this and fell in love with it! I have a red Ciate nail polish but I haven't used it yet, apparently the long brush makes it easier to apply :)

I do think it looks really good though, I really like the effect you've done with only one nail covered.. Looks really good! xx

  9. I now really want to try this but I didn't realise it was so pricey! It does look so nice though and you're right, it is perfect for a special occasion. You know me though, I always jump on the bandwagon when there's blogger hype so no doubt this will be in my collection very soon!
