December Glossybox for Men!!

My boyfriend received his first GlossyBox for Men this morning. It was as if Christmas had come early for him! Luckily, I managed to persuade him to take pictures before jumping into everything, so that I could blog about it!

GlossyBox for Men (£17.95, including P+P) is a quarterly beauty box. It is jam-packed with 7-8 of the most luxurious, high-end beauty products for men. For someone like my boyfriend who loves trying out new things, this is perfect for him.

This is the first box in this new line of men's boxes - an expansion of the already successful GlossyBox that I am subscribed too.

So lets go ahead and see what he got!

Here are some descriptions of the products and my boyfriend's initial thoughts:
Larger pictures of everything above are to follow below.

(1) Shaveworks - The Cool Fix (Full Size £31/156ml) A soothing blue gel that alleviates shaving and waxing woes.
The boyfriend's opinion: This is a product that I think I'm most looking forward to using. I normally use Elemis' Energising Skin Scrub to exfoliate my skin before shaving. It will be interesting to see how this works in comparison.

(2) Godwell - Dualsenses for men. Hair & Body Shampoo (Full Size £7.60/300ml) Cleanse, revitalise and care for your hair, skin and scalp.
The boyfriend's opinion: This should come in useful as I have recently started wearing more product in my hair again, and worry about stripping the natural oils out of it by using too many detoxing hair shampoos, which can make it feel a little dry. Hopefully this will leave it feeling freshly revitalised.

(3) Goldwell - StyleSign Lagoon Jam Volume Gel (Full Size £9.25/150ml) Instant effect volume gel. Directions: Apply  to towel-dried or dry hair.
The boyfriend's opinion: I was a little disappointed when I realised that my product varied to the one on the card in the box, as I thought I had got a hair product for intense hold, but it's actually a volume gel. I'm not usually fond of using gels in my hair because they tend to be quite sticky and unpleasant. However I usually have to use a combination of moulding mud and strong hairspray or spritz to get the volume that I want and to keep my hair in position, particularly with the strong gale like winds that we seem to be having this winter, which are a hair nightmare! So I shall give it a go and compare it to my Trevor Sorbie moulding mud.

(4) Monu - Vitru Conditioning Body Wash (Full Size £12.25/200ml) This body was is formulated with mild foaming agents to gently cleanse the skin and leave it feeling fresh and supple.
The boyfriend's opinion: I have never been an avid user of body washes, other than the generic men's shower gels like Lynx. Perhaps using this product will make me realise that I have been missing out on something special.

(5) Monu - Vitru Energy Rub (Full Size £15/150ml) Vitru's Energy Rub muscle gel is designed to energise a tired mind and body.
The boyfriend's opinion: After swimming, I regularly have quite aching shoulders so this energy rub may be somewhat of a godsend. Although due to the size to price ration, I am not sure that I'd replace my existing pharmacy brought muscle heat-rub, unless it makes me feel like Hercules after a 5km swim.

(6) Murad - Clarifying Mask (Full Size £35/75g) This natural clay-based formula draws out impurities and absorbs excess oil to control and prevent breakouts.
The boyfriend's opinion: Fortunately I don't tend to have as many spots these days (touch wood). Although I do have the occasional post shaving or stress break out so using this mask from time to time might prevent that happening. I have preciously used Clarins for men's face mask which initially had good results, but did seem to dry out my skin a bit too much when used more regularly. It will be interesting to see how this compares.

(7) Yves Saint Laurent  - La Nuit de L'Homme (Full Size £43/60ml) A fresh Oriental men's fragrance that rocks the senses, combining cardamom and cedarwood for an intensely sexy scent.
The boyfriend's opinion: Whilst no doubt being a masculine scent, I get quite a festive feeling when I smell it, as it reminds me of the smells from the Christmas compote pudding that my Polish Grandma makes each year. That is by no means a bad thing, as it smells good enough to eat/drink, although it is perhaps a little sweet (smelling) for my own preference.

(8) Yves Saint Lauren - L'Homme (Full Size £43/60ml) An iconic men's fragrance from Yves Saint Laurent: fresh, woody and masculine.
The boyfriend's opinion: This is a pleasant masculine scent which I believe would be perfect to wear for both day-time and evening events as it's mid-notes are quite fresh.

Hope this helps you decide whether you want to be a part of the next Male GlossyBox or if, in fact, you want to buy one for the man in your life. My boyfriend and I both think it is a great idea.
