Boudoir Prive Review - Leonor Greyl

I received this product in my October Boudoir Prive Box and have used it a few times now. Here's my review on what I thought about it.

The Leonor Greyl Huile de Palme is a hair deep conditioning pre-shampoo conditioner. The idea is that you put it straight onto your dry hair before you get into the shower, leave it from 5 minutes up to overnight, and then wash it out. It is meant to leave your hair feeling soft and nourished.

The consistency of this product is bizarre. When I received it, it had only what I can describe as a honeycomb effect in the middle, that after being shaken up, broke down into little bits in the product. However when applying the product, the bits weren't very obvious in my hair.

I used this for the first time just before I was going in the shower. I wasn't aware that there was a large time span that you could leave it in your hair, for what I assume gives better effects. Therefore on the first try I only left it in for 5 minutes. It seemed silly leaving it in overnight regardless because it would get all over my pillow covers.

When applying a lot of oil straight to dry hair, you can predict what's going to happen. My hair looked awfully greasy and gross and clumped together. However, it wasn't uncomfortable. On the other hand, it may have been if I had left it in for a longer time span.

I didn't really notice any strong smells from it, and all in all I had to just wait to reap the results.

When I washed it out of my hair with the shampoo, I then conditioned and rinsed before getting out of the shower. I left my hair in a towel for around half an hour and then applied my general heat protectant and blow dried my hair.

I honestly can't say that I felt a huge difference in how soft my hair was. My hair is in pretty good condition anyway. With the products I use my hair generally feels soft regardless.

I think I would have to try leaving this product in my hair for a longer period of time. But from what I can tell, I prefer the Nuxe dry oil for hair that came with the September Glossybox.

  1. I spotted someone on Twitter say that you have put the bottle in a cup of hot water because it's supposed to be an oil but due to the cold weather, it's solidified. I haven't tried this yet, but I'm interested to see how it compares with Nuxe Oil, though a lot of the reviews I've read are very similar to yours! x

  2. Ahh!! That makes a lot more sense. Blimey did not realise it has been that cold! I'll give that a go and then try it again :) xxo
